The junior season (U6 through to and including U16) kicks off late February and concludes with a Grand Final Day usually being the last Saturday before the September school holidays start. The senior season (U18 and above) usually kicks off around April through to mid October each year.

Where are the games played?

All junior games are played at Brolga Park at the Murray Sporting Complex on Murray Lyons Cres at Annandale. Senior games are played on a home and away basis with Greenwood Park Sporting Complex and the Brothers Leagues Club being our home grounds.

My child turns 7 in December, what age group do they play in?

What ever age your child turns in that calendar year, that is the correct age group for them. In the above example, the player would play in the Under 7 competition even though they won’t turn 7 until the season is over. Similarly if the child turns 7 on 1 January, they will play n the Under 7 competition.

How old does my child have to be to play football?

Short answer is 4 turning 5. North Queensland Football have now introduced an Under 5 competition so as long as your child turns 5 this calendar year, they can register and play now in the Under 5 competition.

Can I still register my child after sign on days?

Yes most definitely although some age groups are filling up fast. We may not be able to put him into a team where they know someone but part of playing football is able making new friends. Please come down to the Clubhouse on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon between 5 and 6 pm to register and be placed into a team. Your child will be able to play the following Saturday. All other conditions remain the same including cost, deposit, equipment, etc.

How do I know if training has been cancelled?

As a Club, we have a duty of care to our playing members and occasionally we have to cancel training due to the weather or condition of or work being done to the fields.  Like us on Facebook at Rebels FC Junior Gunners or Rebels FC Senior Gunners for all the latest information and feeds.

Additionally, sometimes we leave it to the descreation of the team’s coach so it is important that you confirm with the team coach or manager as well.

Can we train on a particular day?

Short answer is yes. We let the team coach and manager advise us when the team is to train. This is usually done in consultation with the parents of the players within that team however, there are instances when the coach is only available on a specific day. However, as we have multiple teams in most if not all age groups we can place your child into a team that trains specifically on a Tuesday or Thursday. Unfortunately no other days are available for training as we have to share Greenwood Park with other users.

Can I hire the Clubhouse?

Want to hire a hall? Unfortunately Greenwood Park Sporting Complex Assoc doesn’t hire the hall on a casual basis. We reommend and use the facilities at Brothers Leagues Club.
